My first novel is out from Dreamspinner Press:

Blaze Shinozuka, a hot talent who auditions as a replacement guitarist for world famous pop star Cassie, is thrilled when he draws the attention of celebrity manager Jason Stockton—and not only because it could make his career. His instant attraction to Jason sends his world careening off its axis and drives him to make a move. But Jason reacts by trying to put distance between them, and Blaze finds himself thrust into the gritty world of rock 'n' roll while falling for a man he shouldn’t touch, let alone love.

Straight-laced Jason Stockton is always professional and never dips his pen in the company ink. But there's something about Blaze that leaves him wanting what he shouldn't, and the guitarist’s exotic beauty and compelling innocence turn out to be the temptation Jason can’t resist. But just one lie in the national media sets off a chain of events that pushes Jason and Blaze apart. Can they find a way to be together in the cutthroat, jealous world of rock 'n' roll even after the music stops?

So I'm crawling out from underneath the mountain of men around here. Wow.

I have some really awesome fans, ya know? I'm just really happy to talk to all of you so don't hesitate to e-mail me or message me on Facebook. *waves*

I also wanted to update everyone on my projects :D

1. I have three submissions into a few different presses. I'll keep you updated on those. One of them is a new genre I hope to branch out into so keep an eye out here. One of them is also... Replacement Guitarist Christmas so hold onto your horses! The third one is an exciting project that I can't wait to tell you guys about so check back in a couple of weeks for more info.

2. I've started two new projects, the first one being an exciting action/adventure starring Terrence, a forensic accountant for the FBI. He goes undercover to bring down a huge terrorist plot and falls in love in all the wrong places with the wrong guy. Look for a excerpt coming soon!

My second project is a new genre as well, in the lesbian erotica. Keep an eye out for more info on that as well.

Thanks for stopping by and drop me a line @ lori at loritoland.com :D Take care!

Well, I'm back from RWA 2010. It was awesome and I found it quite interesting to compare to RT. RWA, especially celebrating their 30th year conference, had a lot of high profile authors, including Nora Roberts and Sabrina Jeffries. Nora Roberts was an amazing speaker. She lit up the room. I was completely blown away and I felt like I wanted to run out of the room and write my next novel after hearing her speak.

This isn't an easy business to be in. We get rejected a lot and we also hear that something we give birth to, quite painfully I might add, isn't quite good enough. When my mom read a short story of mine so many years ago and told me it was okay, I likened her rejection to telling me I had an ugly baby. Which is true.

It never blows me away to introduce yourself as an erotic romance writer and hear the table go silent. Dude, most of us are married at the table, most of us are having sex. We just write about it. Well... I write about the kind of sex I'm not having but then I don't have a dick or I would be doing it.

Something interesting I would like to point out was an observation either [info]redblaze or I made at the conference. The RT convention was comprised of many multi-published authors whereas the RWA convention was comprised of a lot of multi published authors and A LOT of unpublished authors. All of the workshops were awesome at both conventions and I always get so jazzed to go to them.

Julia Quinn's workshop on dialogue was amazing. I look forward to hearing it on tape again considering I had to leave. I asked a question about dialogue tags and using them in conversation when you had two people of the same gender. She did make a cute comment about being open-minded to the whole romance between same genders but I think it was lost on the room at large.

All in all, awesome conference. Can't wait for 2011!

*crawls out from under Blaze and Jason*

So Hi there! Sorry I've neglected to stop by but Jason and Blaze were demanding I tell their Christmas Story. I have so many projects I'm working on, sometimes I feel like I'm just running around in a circle chasing my tail.

Look for more news about the sequel to Replacement Guitarist soon. Thanks!

I'm so sorry I've been neglecting my LJ here. I've been so busy with RL and writing and submitting Replacement Guitarist 2 and then with the releases and also getting ready to submit my latest story, a BDSM Femmedomme story to my agent, the fabulous ePubagent :D

See you all on the flip side :D

Unfortunately due to some unforeseen circumstances (aka health problems) I've been a little behind on my writing.

So to celebrate being back... here is something I think is awesome (but your mileage may vary)

My playlist for The Replacement Guitarist 1, 2, 3,... )
